Lonely Walls

My ears

Like your ears,

Will one day hear no more.

My heart,

Like your heart,

Will one day fear no more.

My hands,

Like your hands,

Will one day feel no more.

My eyes,

Like your eyes,

Will one day see no more.

Your voice,

Like my voice,

Whispers to me in the wind.

One day the windows that you wield,

Will turn to dust on the ground.

One day the walls that were your shield,

Will tumble and crumble down.

And so when all is lost,

Then you shall gain it all.

And there in the night’s dark frost,

With the absence of your body’s wall,

And as the crown you wore begins to melt

You will be less alone,

Than you have ever felt

In that house of bone that was once your thrown.
