Never,
As finite as an icey stabbing shard,
As infinite as the idea of your God.
Forever,
A vast darkness in space,
Yet to you, time has no place.
Gone,
As if you didn’t exist.
Gone as each moment falls away.
Gone as the photos will decay.
Gone as my sanity runs astray.
Gone as the fading of the day…
Until even recollection starts to drift.
All the words I wish I said
And all the love your heart once bled
Now sink to a grey and gloomy grave,
Like fallen perished fruit
That neither you nor me can save.
Memories stumble over crumbling roots.
Now you grow old only in my head,
Ideas that will too be dead.
